Nadia graduated from the world-renowned Vaganova Choreographic Institute (the school of the Kirov Maryinsky Ballet) in St. Petersburg, class of Alla Osipenko. She has performed with leading Russian companies and with world ballet stars. Immigrating to Canada in 1979, Nadia embarked on a career of developing the traditions of classical ballet in her new homeland. She founded the Academy of Ballet and Jazz in 1988 in Toronto, which quickly became a successful dance school offering the pure Kirov/Vaganova syllabus.

Gala "A Tribute to Rudolf Nureyev" at the O'Keefe Centre followed in 1995 with Nadia Veselova Tencer performing on stage with a glittering lineup of international superstars. It featured principal dancers from the Kirov Ballet, American Ballet Theater, the New York City Ballet, the Royal Ballet of England, the Royal Danish Ballet, the National Ballet of Canada, the Bolshoi Ballet, the Ballet National de Marseilles Roland Petit, La Scala di Milano, Stuttgard Ballet, the Vienna State Opera Ballet, étoiles from L'Opéra de Paris and other international guest artists.
